1. It Completely Breaks the Logic of Women’s Sports Women’s sports exist because female athletes were being pushed out of competition by male physiology. Allowing transgender men — people who identify as male — into the women’s category obliterates the entire point of having a women’s category at all. If someone identifies as a man, competes as a woman, and the rules allow it, then the category becomes meaningless. It’s not inclusion — it’s category collapse. 2. Testosterone Makes This a Non‑Starter Transgender men who take testosterone cannot compete in women’s sports. Period. Testosterone is banned. Testosterone is a performance enhancer. Testosterone fundamentally changes strength, speed, and recovery. So the only way a transgender man can compete in women’s sports is by abandoning medically necessary treatment — which is absurd. Sports organizations cannot allow testosterone in women’s sports without destroying fairness. They cannot ban testosterone for transgender men without harming their health. This is an unfixable contradiction. 3. It Forces Sports to Pretend Biology Doesn’t Matter Sports are built on measurable, objective criteria: sex, weight, age, hormone levels. Identity is not measurable. It’s not enforceable. It’s not a biological category. Letting transgender men compete in women’s sports forces governing bodies to ignore anti‑doping rules, medical standards, biological categories and enforce identity-based eligibility that cannot be verified. This is not inclusion — it’s institutionalized denial of reality. 4. It Creates Safety Risks That Cannot Be Hand‑Waved Away In contact sports, even small testosterone exposure increases, aggression, explosive power and injury risk. Women’s sports were created partly because male‑typical physiology can injure female athletes. Allowing transgender men — especially those who have ever used testosterone — into women’s divisions puts female athletes in harm’s way. Safety is not optional. Safety is not “transphobic.” Safety is non-negotiable. 5. It Damages Women’s Opportunities Women already fight for scholarships, roster spots, sponsorships and competitive rankings. Allowing transgender men into women’s sports directly reduces opportunities for female athletes, especially in high school and college where every spot matters. This is not hypothetical — it’s structural harm. 6. It Turns Women’s Sports Into a Philosophical Debate Instead of a Competition If the women’s category is for people assigned female at birth, or for people who identify as women, or for people who identify as men but aren’t on testosterone, then it’s not a category. It’s a political argument disguised as a rulebook. Sports cannot function on vibes or ideology. They require clear, objective, enforceable rules. 7. Inclusion Cannot Mean Eliminating Women’s Sports Policies that allow transgender men to compete in women’s sports — even unintentionally — risk erasing the protected category women fought for decades to establish. Women’s sports were created because female athletes were being pushed out. These policies risk repeating that history under a different banner. This isn’t fairness. This isn’t inclusion. This is the slow dismantling of women’s sports. |
