Ozone

Most skin cancers are a result of exposure to the ultraviolet rays in sunlight.
Ultraviolet rays also lead to the formation of cataracts (clouding of the lens
of the eye) and pterygium (tissue growth on the surface of the eye),
both of which can impair vision.
Because UV rays don’t penetrate deeply into the body, they wouldn’t be
expected to cause cancer in internal organs.

The ozone layer is a region of Earth's stratosphere that absorbs
most of the Sun's ultraviolet radiation and thus shields us
from ultraviolet rays.
However, there has been a hole in the ozone
layer that has been floating over Antarctica for millions of years.
It was never any problem until in 1985, when climate scientists discovered it.
The climate scientists claimed that the hole in the ozone layer was caused by human made
clorofluorocarbons, or CFCs, a gaseous compound used as
refrigerants, cleaning solvents and aerosol propellants.
The hole in the ozone layer was going to grow until it threatened to
end life on earth. In 1990, Congress amended
the Clean Air Act, with provisions for protecting the ozone layer by stopping the
use of CFCs. This CFC ban has cost many billions of dollars.

Ozone is created when oxygen molecules in the stratosphere absorb energy from the
sun's ultraviolet rays. In other words, it takes sunshine to create ozone.
Antarctica gets no sunshine for 6 months a year and very little sunshine for
the other 6 months. And even during the summer, the sun never rises very much
above the horizon. So no sunlight is going through the stratosphere directly above
Antarctica—ever. It is this lack of sunshine that creates the ozone hole.
This is why the ozone hole never spreads beyond Antarctica.
CFCs have nothin to do with it.

What is a climate scientist to do now? After getting governments and
consumers and business's to spend billions of dollars to replace harmless CFCs,
can they afford to admit that the ozone layer hole is not a threat and was never
a threat to any life on earth? Are they willing to put their jobs and
research grants at risk? Not likely! Instead climate scientist are claiming
that the CFC ban worked. Life of earth has been saved from destruction.
But, don't look for any celebration. There will be no ticker-tape parade
for climate scientists. They want this ozone layer hole issue
to go silently away. And as the media have been the most arrogant and
self-righteous advocates for this doomsday cult science, few will ever
hear of the ozone layer again.

But, why should you believe anybody who is not a real scientist?
So, let me quote from a book written by a real scientist,
Dancing Naked in the Mine Field by Kary Mullis. Kary was awarded
the Nobel Prize and the Japan Prize in Chemistry for his invention of the
polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The quotes are from pages
108-109 and 117-118.

"Beyond the lack of scientific evidence,
it makes no sense anyhow that we could destroy ozone
in the upper atmosphere. If a hole in the ozone layer
appeared somehow, here's what would happen: The UV rays
from the sun would come through the hole and strike
the Earth's atmosphere, where they would be absorbed
by the miles-thick layer of oxygen surrounding the Earth.
Then it would make more ozone. When the UV rays from
the sun combine with oxygen, they form ozone."
The ozone thus formed absorbs UV light, which continues
to come from the sun, and prevents it from penetrating any
farther into the oxygen below that has not been converted
to ozone. That is why we have oxygen to breathe down here
and ozone in the upper atmosphere. If all the nations
of the world agreed to spend all of their money to
eliminate the ozone layer—they couldn't do it.
It can't go away unless all the
oxygen in the atmosphere were to go away, and then,
guess what—we couldn't breathe, untill the green plants
made some more.
The ozone in the upper atmosphere regulates itself.
If you measure a drop in some variable like ozone,
it doesn't mean it is going to be gone.
Put a stick on the beach marking the edge of the last wave
while the tide is coming in, then come back in an hour
with another stick. You'll notice that the tide has come in
ten feet in an hour, but if you predict that in a year
the tide would have come in 87,000 feet, you'd be dead wrong."

"Politicians don't know anything about scientific things.
They just want to look like they do.
Somebody has to advise them.
Who are those advisors?
It's an important question because those people—who are
always having to come up with emminent disasters
that can be prevented by governmental projects—are
manipulating you.
They are parasites with degrees..."

And if you don't know who Kary Mullis is, let this quote from
Ted Koppel of ABC News—Nightline explain it to you.

"Take all the MPV's from professional baseball, basketball,
and football. Throw in your dozen favorite movie stars and
a half dozen rock stars for good measure, add all the television
anchorpeople now on the air, and collectively, we have not
affected the current good or the future welfare of mankind
as much as Kary Mullis."
